Life at the single molecule level: a label-free approach
Prof. Dr. Reuven Gordon
University of Victoria
We can watch a single protein’s conformational changes in real time, at high speeds and for hours. This is done without the need for labels, tethers or any other modifications. We can observe interactions of proteins with small molecule drug candidates and resolve the free-energy landscape. This talk will introduce the technique of nanoaperture optical tweezers and discuss research in my group and others has allowed us to learn more about life at the single molecule level.
