CeNS Retreat Kleinwalsertal 2020 - cancelled due to COVID-19 risk!

This retreat brings together young researchers of the Center for NanoScience (CeNS) in an informal atmosphere. The talks and poster session are intended to give the graduate students an overview of current research within CeNS. In addition, workshops on transferable skills and career talks will complement the program.

The retreat takes place at the Marburger Haus in Hirschegg in the beautiful scenery of the Kleinwalsertal. The Marburger Haus can be reached by train to Oberstdorf and a by the Kleinwalsertal bus starting at Oberstdorf station. The program committee is composed of the current CeNS student representatives:

• Alexandra Kühnlein (AG Braun)
• Sarah Ochmann (AG Tinnefeld)

The retreat will start on Sunday, March 22 at about 4.00 pm and will end on Wednesday, March 25 at about 1.00 pm (return to Munich on Wednesday) and will combine:

• oral presentations by PhD students (20 minutes each)
• poster session
• transferable skills workshops on scientific writing and communication
• career talks: Prof. Ulrich Schollwöck, LMU and Dr. Volker Schaller, Siemens Healthcare GmbH

CeNS will organize a direct bus transfer form Munich to Hirschegg on Sunday, March 22. More information will follow soon.

We have booked rooms for speakers and participants from Sunday (22nd) to Wednesday (25th) in the Marburger Haus. Rooms with 2 or 3 beds with shared bathrooms will be at disposal for the participants, and single rooms for speakers.

The workshop is open to CeNS associates. Participation fee is EUR 100,00. The number of places is limited to 26. Registration deadline is February 14.

After registration, you will receive payment details in a separate e-mail within one week. Payment of the participation fee is due by February 28 at the latest.
