CeNS Spin-Off nanion competes for the German Future Prize

On October 11, the CeNS spin-off Nanion Technologies was selected as finalist for the "Deutscher Zukunftspreis", the Federal Presidents Award for Technology and Innovation, which is endowed with a prize money of EUR 250'000. The team comprised of Dr. Niels Fertig, Dr. Andrea Brüggemann and Prof. Jan C. Behrends convinced the committee with their automated planar patch-clamp technology which is used for the products of their company Nanion Technologies GmbH. The Munich-based company was founded in 2002 by members of the Center for NanoScience (CeNS) and has since then already won several prizes. The successful entrepreneurs are now nominated for the "Deutscher Zukunftspreis" which will be awarded on December 6th by Federal President Horst Köhler. With this prestigious prize, outstanding achievements in research and development are recognized.

Deutscher Zukunftspreis 2007 - Von Körperzellen, Keramik, Licht und Spiegeln
Seit zehn Jahren verleiht der Bundespräsident den Deutschen Zukunftspreis. Er ehrt damit "beispielhaft den Erfindergeist und Umsetzungskraft" von Unternehmern und Forschern.
