IDK's Hanna Engelke off to Berkeley
Alumna joins Prof. Liphart Lab at the University of Berkeley, USA
Dr. Hanna Engelke, former PhD student of the International Doctorate Program NanoBioTechnology (IDK-NBT), now joins the well-known lab of Prof. Jan Liphart at the University of Berkeley, USA.
Hanna Engelke received her Diploma of the University of Bayreuth with the thesis "Optische Spektroskopie an einzelnen Perylenbisimiden" in the group of Prof. J. Köhler.
She then went on to do her PhD in the soft matter group of Prof. Joachim Rädler at the LMU Munich and was accepted as member of the IDK-NBT in 2008. She successfully finished her dissertation this year in March with her thesis on "Coagulation protein FVIII binding to phospholipid membranes investigated by Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy" (download thesis).
With her departure to the U.S. the CeNS-band "unCeNSiert" loses its valuable clarinet player and the IDK-NBT loses one of its most active members! But of course we wish Hanna great scientific success and feel confident that we will stay in touch!
