NanoTemper Technologies finalist for European spin-out awards

The young CeNS start-up company NanoTemper Technologies founded by Stefan Duhr and Philipp Baaske was chosen at the selection committee meeting on 12 November at Imperial College London as finalist for the Academic Enterprise Awards (ACEA). Being one out of 3 finalists for the Fast Start Award, they have good chances for winning this precious prize which will be awarded on December 10th at l'Hôtel de Ville (City Hall) in Paris, France. The Fast Start Award will be given to "individuals who have created a promising but as-yet unproven spin-out based on ideas developed at universities and public research institutes in Europe."

ACES Awards

The awards gives public recognition to those researchers, engineers, professors, students and government officials in Europe who have done the most in 2009 to foster a culture of enterprise on campus. This can be through taking the risk of launching a spinout company, developing a discovery into a marketable innovation (at the risk of the tenure-track publication record), or promoting policies that create a receptive environment for entrepreneurship on campus. more...

NanoTemper Technologies

Based on the proprietary technology Microscale Thermophoresis the company is developing affordable analytical instruments for the characterization of biomolecule interactions and for the study of biomolecule activity in vitro. In addition, Nanotemper provides expert services for biotech companies, pharmaceutical industry and basic research institutes.
