Prof. Thomas Weitz joins CeNS as a new member
Prof. Thomas Weitz studied Physics and Electrical Engineering at the University of Kaiserslautern and the University of Heidelberg. He performed his PhD work in the group of Prof. Kern at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research Stuttgart and was awarded a PhD degree by the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in 2008. After a postdoctoral period in Prof. Kern's group, Thomas Weitz joined Prof. Amir Yacoby's research group at the Department of Physics at Harvard University as a postdoctoral candidate on a Feodor Lynen Research Fellowship in 2009. In 2010, he moved back to Stuttgart for a postdoc in Prof. von Klitzing's lab. From 2011 to 2015, Thomas Weitz was a laboratory head at BASF SE Ludwigshafen, working on projects on organic electronics. As of December 2015, Professor Weitz will be appointed (W2) at the Faculty of Physics (LMU).
